I hear it everyday in the halls of organizations I work with, from my coaching clients, from friends, on the street. . .
“Someday I’ll take that exam.”
“Someday I’ll take a vacation.”
“Someday I’ll get my anger under control.”
“Someday I’ll talk to her and put her in her place.”
“Someday I’ll clean this desk.”
“Someday I’ll hire a coach to help me achieve the results I deserve."
The list can go on and on.
The problem is that for most people, “someday” never comes!
Your brain doesn’t work well with “someday.” It reads it more like “never.”
It’s much more empowering and effective to say: “I’ll do it today!”
It’s much better than “I’ll do it later” or “I’ll get to it tomorrow.”
And way more efficient than “I’ll do it someday.”
“Later” and “Tomorrow” means “not now.” And most of the time . . .
“Someday” never comes!
For your brain to take things seriously, you have to be specific and purposeful.
“Monday, on the second week of next month, I’ll take my vacation.”
“Tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. I’ll have that conversation I’ve been dreading.”
“I’ll clean my desk today before I leave work.”
If you are serious about addressing your developmental needs, improving specific behaviors, developing new skills, and successfully solving complex challenges, I invite you to explore today the possibility of executive coaching.
I have space available right now on my coaching program. As I am entering the busiest time of year for my services, don’t think “later,” “tomorrow,” or “someday.” Click here now to find out more.
