Best secret for success in the new year: Stay positive!

Happy 2013

The New Year is almost here. You can almost touch it! This gives you an amazing opportunity. You can either bemoan all the things that have gone wrong in the past year, or you can decide to keep your focus on the positive for the new year.

Your best shot at success

If you want this coming year to be your most successful:

  1. Reflect
  2. on what you have learned about yourself this year. Pay attention to your best moments, your successes. Think about your needs and desires. Look for your opportunities for growth.
  3. Decide
  4. what you need to do more of. Decide what positive change you want to make for yourself and your organization.
  5. Design
  6. a realistic and specific development plan. Think about your purpose. Identify your “what” and “how.” Be specific about your implementation and follow up.

Although this sounds simple, in reality it means making some tough decisions. You have to let go of your negative thought habits. It’s easier to feel a “victim” and think that everybody but you is the cause of your problems. It's much more difficult to take responsibility for your life. The world is full of people who constantly complain abut their life and work, but who don’t want to make the effort to change.

Make the decision to stay positive, take control of your life, and make positive changes. If you aren’t sure how to do this, speak to someone who can help you find the answers you need as soon as possible. Expert advice from a coach, or even a therapist if needed, can help you move forward and grow.

Remember. . .

If you are convinced you want to focus on the positive, don’t wait another year. Start now and stay positive!
